Oban Lifeboat replaces NHS helicopter in bad weather Medevac

The NHS ‘Helimed’ helicopter was slated to carry out a medical evacuation from the Isle of Mull  but adverse weather conditions dictation that its mission had to be aborted.

Oban Lifeboat was then tasked to carry out the medevac and aunched at 18.24 tonight (13th November) with paramedics aboard.

The Lifeboat, Mora Edith Macdonald, arrived at Craignure at 19.00.

In no nore than 8 minutes the lifeboat was bound for Oban with her elderly female patient aboard, arriving at 19.40.

The patient was transferred to Lorn and the Isles District General Hospital by ambulance and the lifeboat was re-fuelled and ready for service at 20.00.
