Drinks giant, Diageo, had its India HQ in Mumbai visited on 17th November by customs and revenue officials.

The company confirmed the visit by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, refused to discuss the focus of the visit and said only that ‘discussions are now taking place with our local management team’.

India’s newspaper, the Economic Times, has alleged that the company is under investigation for possible tax evasion.
