Highlands & Islands MSP, Dave Thompson, has added his voice to the campaign to get the Bank of Scotland to reverse its decision to withdraw its Business Manager from the Isle of Islay.

Mr Thompson is always concerned when he hears of any degradation of services available to people and businesses within his constituency.

As a result he has asked HBOS to explain the rationale behind this detrimental decision and to suggest any means by which they expect business customers to access the services the bank had previously provided on Islay.

He also feels that the request for the departure of the Business Manager from the island be postponed would seem to offer a sensible window of opportunity for the bank and its customers to make their relative positions clear and allow further consideration of the best course of action.

Dave Thompson has asked to be kept informed of developments and will communicate the response he gets from HBOS.

Comments and exchanges of information and opinions from the wide spectrum of people concerned with this are there to be read and added to at the foot of our original article on the issue.

  1. kintyre1 Says:

politicians jumping on bandwagons late in the day is never a pleasant sight

  2. High Above Says:

That seems a particularly ungracious response to the news that a member of the party of Government has come on board.

I’m just off to have a look at kintyre1′s other posts to see if we are dealing with a cyber dogmatist who objects to everything involving the SNP, nationalism or Scotland in general.

  3. Willie McEwan Says:

You’ll have job making any sense of most of it. There has not been even one sensible suggestion about anything since kintyre1 started contributing. He just attacks the SNP all the time on anything. Somebody I talked to in the SNP think it is a deliberate effort to make the SNP look good because it is so much rubbish. Myself I think it is a worm inside the SNP.
