It is a fact that at whatever management level a review is undertaken they will always review the levels below themsevles and not those around or above. Cllr Simon makes the point about having the right managemant and departmental structure in place, has is only right, but if I can add a few other words that are sometimes sadly lacking when talking about management within Councils and they are ability, efficiency and competency. It is often said that people who work in the public sector are only there because they lack the ability to work in the priavte sector. Will the management that over saw the introduction of single status, with it's financial problems now being felt by the Council, be having their poistions reviewed or will their pals gather round to sweep it under the carpet.
