A group set up in Oban after a public meeting and film show last November, recently had another successful evening.
At the end of September a well-attended public meeting watched a showing of the film Jerusalem: the East Side Story, which was followed by a lively discussion. The evening was chaired by The Rev Bill Gray from Oban and the film was introduced by Jan Sutch-Pickard from Mull.
As a result of the evening, seven more people joined the group which now has 31 supporters.
The main aim of the group is to share, discuss and act on what is really happening in Israel and Palestine and to highlight some of the atrocities which are being inflicted on women, men and children there every day.
The group is determined also to work with any other organisations which genuinely want to secure peace and justice in the area.
There will be another public meeting in the Glencruitten Road Church Centre, Oban on Wednesday 18th November at 7.30 pm when Kate Aspinwall, who recently returned from the area after acting as an impartial peace observer, will give a talk.
