Tomorrow (31st October) will see a mutual celebration of the similar sports of shinty (Scotland) and hurling (Ireland) in what has become an annual international contest.

Bught Part in Inverness will host the event which will also be broadcast live on BBC 2 (2.00pm start for transmission) with longtime shinty player and historian, broadcaster Hugh Dan MacLennan on the commentary team.

MacLennan has pointed to the difference in the scale of audiences attracted to each of the two national games, anticipating that tomorrow’s match will see crowds of under 5,000 where the national hurling final at Croke Park in Dublin draws around 82,000.
