Drowning at Oban’s North Pier

At around 8.00pm on Saturday evening, in circumstances not regarded as suspicious, a man fell into the water from Oban’s North Pier.

The Emergency Services who were called to the scene used a boat and got the man out of the water, taking him then to Lorn and the Isles Hospital.

Sadly he was thre pronounced dead on arrival. He has not yet been named by Strathclyde Police.
