The National Council of the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association has announced the promotion of bands for the 2010 competitions.

Argyll has three bands now confirmed for promotion:

  • Kintyre moving from Novice Grade  to Juvenile Grade
  • Black Bottle Islay from Grade 3B to Grade 3A (although having changed sponsors that is unlikely to be its competition name for 2010)
  • Inveraray & District from Grade 2 to Grade 1
