Oban Lifeboat was launched on Sunday 10th July at 13.40 to go to the assistance of a 30ft yacht, Tango II, with two people aboard. The yacht had gone aground on a rock just North of the Isle of Lismore.
Neither of the yacht’s crew was injured and the yacht was stable. The lifeboat stood by until Tango II was able to refloat on the rising tide. She came off at 18.40.
The yacht was not making water and made her own way to Oban for further inspection.
The lifeboat, Mora Edith Macdonald, returned to Station and was refuelled and ready for service again at 1955.
