London-based Tailormade Productions, whose background is largely in video and short films, are making their first feature film based on Janet Rodgers’ novel, Island. Called The Sea Change, the plot is described as: ‘Part myth, part mystery… a tale of love and hate between a brother and a sister, the murder of their mother, and the magic of a remote Scottish island’.
Well, Argyll’s Mull is to be that island and it majors on magic. The fifteen-strong production team has been at work on the island getting the locations ready for filming this weekend and staying at the Pennyghael Hotel. The team will swell to forty this weekend in a sequence of intensive filming. With three locations chosen for filming - at Fishnish, the Ross of Mull and Pennyghael itself, local catering and transport providers have been sharing the same welcome out-of-season business as the hotels.
The cast is led by top British actors Colin Morgan (of Merlin fame) and Janet McTeer, who will arrive on Mull at the weekend.
The Tailormade Productions website has a lot of detail on the production which will be interesting for film-making as well as film-going buffs.
