As For Argyll has publicised, an online Condolence Register was thoughtfully set up by the Islay Weblog to allow friends and family members beyond the Isle of Islay to send messages of sympathy for the recent, sudden and tragic deaths of Dougie and Jamie MacTaggart and Neil MacFadyen.
This has already proved how valuable it is to those away from Islay. At the point of writing, sixty-eight messages have been posted on it, from all over Scotland including Islay itself and from the outer islands of Skye, Orkney and Shetland. Messages have also come from Ireland, The Netherlands, Canada and New Zealand and from organisations connected with the island and the lost islanders: The Glasgow Islay Association and Strathclyde Fire Brigade Union.
The Condolence Register remains open and will be permanently available on the Islay Weblog site to comfort friends and family in the future.
