Cowal’s Strachur gets the Bar Room Mountaineers

On Saturday night - 29th November 2008 - Strachur, in East Loch Fyne hosted a night of traditional music in the Memorial Hall, with Findlay Napier and the Bar Room Mountaineers. The band works to put a modern edge on Scottish traditional music, is song-centred and has a cracking line-up.
- Findlay , guitarist, works with the award-winning Back of the Moon and Queen Anne’s Revenge. He and Nick Turner are also noted songwriters.
- Paul Jennings, percussionist, used to work with Croft No 5 and Old Blind Dogs
- Gilian Frame on vocals and fiddle, was the first winner of the Young Scottish Traditional Musician of the Year Award
- Douglas Miller delivers the piano line
