26th December: current voting patterns in ForArgyll Awards 2008

‘Apace’ is the word for the voting rate in the ForArgyll Awards 2008. The most fiercely contested categories are:

  • Best Individual or Group Achievement
  • Best Event
  • Best Music and Arts Organisation
  • Best Sporting Facility
  • Best Tourism Website
  • Best Visitor Attraction
  • Best Wildlife Website
  • Best Restaurant
  • Best Blog
  • Best Community Website
  • Best Potential for 2009

In the following categories there are currently lively tying situations between two or more contestants:

  • Best Accommodation
  • Best Arts Website
  • Best Community Event
  • Best ecommerce Website
  • Best Renewable Energy Initiative
  • Best Village Hall

There is a weak tying situation in Best Community Initiative – yet the contestants are first class.

There is virtually no interest in the Best Local Newspaper Websites contest and there may be reasons for that which we’ll explore in an Awards retrospective.

And there is a fantastic story to be told about what is going on in the Best Heritage Website contest.

We are learning a lot of interesting things about Argyll which will also be shared in the retrospective.
