VisitScotland is paying £1.25 million to buy its website fully into public ownership. The website is currently a public / private partnership between VisitScotland and Tiscover, Partnerships UK and Atos Origin.
Tourism Minister Jim Mather, Argyll’s constituency MSP, says that this move ‘will allow VisitScotland to adapt more quickly to changing consumer trends and will give greater flexibility to meet the needs of both visitors and the tourism industry’.
At the moment VisitScotland is outperforming VisitBritain, VisitWales and Enjoy England combined.
