Inveraray and District Pipe Band were on parade on Sunday 9th November, playing in support of several memorial services in the area: Inveraray, Furnace and the Combined Operations service at HMS Quebec, now the Argyll Caravan Park.
This Scottish, European and World Champion Band, now promoted from Juvenile to Grade 2 for 2009 competitions gives a huge amount to Argyll and to its community, in its remarkable and hard earned successes and in its ready support for all sorts of local events.
For Argyll followed them through their contribution to the ceremony at Inveraray’s War Memorial on Sunday, which included one of the young band members laying a wreath on behalf of the band. At the end of the video, when ‘the big band’ gets to the Church to play the congregation in, waiting to play with them are members of ‘the wee band’ which will play in the competition for the first time next year.
