Oban Youth and Community Association (OYCA) has raised funding for two major studies to establish a new Youth and Community Centre for the town. The studies have been commissioned from Community Links Scotland, will start this month and will include postal and online questionnaires, face-to-face interviews outside supermarkets, public meetings and discussions with Oban High School pupils.

The best possible cooperation from Oban residents of all ages and from all of the potential user groups of the proposed new centre will be of great help. It is important that an initiative like this is created to fullfil all possible community need and support all possible wished-for developments.

Ken MacColl, Chair of West Highland Housing Association says: ‘Following a tender process, we have appointed consultants who are very experienced and who will give the Oban community every opportunity to have their say on what is a very important project for the whole town’.
