Loch Lomond’s Cameron House to open Martin Wishart restaurant

The Michelin star chef, Martin Wishart has agreed to start his second restaurtant at the Cameron House Hotel on Loch Lomond in Argyll. It will open on 5th December and will see Wishart return to a hotel he worked at in 1991.

The first chef in Edinburgh to get a Michelin Star for a restaurant there – Restaurant Martin Wishart, he is setting up a team of five at Cameron House, drawn from his permanent team of ten at the Edinburgh establishment. He himself will visit between four and six times a month. The Loch Lomond team will be led by Head Chef Stewart Boyles.

The Cameron House restaurant needs only a minor refit and Wishart plans to emphasise first class service alongside his hallmark of French cuisine with a Scottish twist. His focus is on using the best of materials sourced from Scottish suppliers. He will use the same suppliers at Cameron House as he does in Edinburgh.

He sees the Cameron House restaurant as offering serious competition to the best restaurants in Glasgow, the setting being a major card.
