Seaplane success brings new wings and new routes

Loch Lomond Seaplanes, now recognised as Scotland’d third most popular attraction for visitors, has had such sustained success it is looking at growth. It has two things in its sights – another plane and new routes.

The company already flies scheduled services form the Science Museum, near the City Centre on the Clyde, to Oban and from Oban to Tobermory – still known as Balamory to children of all ages – on the Isle of Mull.

There are two new destinations on the flight path – Portree on the Isle of Skye and the Isle of Arran. These would certainly add hugely to the popularity of the service – which also offers summer round trips out of Loch Lomond in Argyll, its home base.

We published a consumer test on the flight from Oban Bay to the Clyde which energetically recommended the experience – and on an allied visit to the Science Museum – whose tower was recommended, if much else was not.
