Ardrishaig Community Council takes the lead on regeneration

The reinvigorated Community Council for Ardrishaig on Loch Fyne is taking no hostages in its drive to renew the town. The little port where the late Labour Leader, John Smith, went to school is the focus of a regeneration masterplan pulling together development for the town centre, the yacht basin for the Crinan canal and the busy harbour. This strategy will now become the development framework for Ardrishaig for the next twenty years.

The lochside village was a favourite place of John Smith’s in his younger days. Now buried on Iona, he used to spend his summers on the puffers plying the Clyde and calling at Ardrishaig.
