Publication on Jura’s Ferrymen

With the new ferry now onstream from Tayvallich on Loch Sween to Craighosue in Jura, this book may need to be updated. Released in June 2008, ;The Ferrymen’ is descrobed as ‘an art-house quality edition of ‘The ferrymen’, intentionally shot in a gritty and grainy 1930s style format’. It claims to be the first book written on the Isle of Jura Ferry (to Port Askaig on Islay) and the men who work on it.

A successful exhibition in 2005, ‘The Ferrymen’ provided the stimulus for this book of photographs, essays and commentary. The first in a planned ‘Arc of the Celt’ quintet, it has been printed in a small, limited edition, priced at £12 with a further £2 for UK postage. This is one for the collector. It can be ordered  by email from director@theisleofjura.co.uk or floatresearch@btinternet.com
