The Mid Argyll Pipe Band, in its eightieth birthday year, is back home from its latest foreign tour – a week’s playing in Poland, part of which was spent renewing their contact and friendship with the Czestokowa Pipe Band who came to visit them in Argyll last year. The band’s gig locations included Katowice, Czestokowa, Debno, Klodzko and Koscielec. On an off-duty day they were taken to visit the notorious ‘Concentration Camp’ at Oswiecim (Auschwitz) an experience impacting strongly on those who saw it.

In an earlier news item we publicised the band’s production of a CD – Blackwood and Hickory – to mark their 80th anniversary. This can be bought online through Wild Biscuit, in many ways the drivers of the initiative.
