Local charities on Argyll’s Isle of Islay will benefit from a highly inventive fund raising event. The island has a Spot the Whisky Barrel competition where, for £25 a ticket, entrants guess exactly where the whisky barrell will finish up after it’s dropped from an aircraft at 5000ft. The drop will take place on Thursday 14th. The barrell will drift for five minutes. Then three independent judges will plot its position. Tickets were sold online and entries have come from all over the world. Imagination rules – and all credit to Ronald Worthington-Eyre who had the idea..
