Crossed wires on strike-affected Oban Airport phone

The latest edition of the Yellow Pages, under ‘Airports and Airfields’ give the phone number for Oban Airport as 01631 710888. This is incorrect. It will take you instead to the number for Total Logistics Care (TLC), the company contracted to deliver the fuelling and handling services for the airport. This company pre-dated the arrival of the new airport, providing fuelling services to the former private airfield. There has obviously been an error in assuming the transfer of its number to the new public airport.

The correct number for Oban Airport is 01631 710910 – but don’t ring today. It’s affected by the local authority workers’ 24-hour strike and there’s no one to answer the phones. The airport is run by Argyll and Bute Council.
