Where can you find photographs relevant to the nature and development of your Argyll community? Track them down, get the details of what each images pictures, borrow them, scan them and email them to us. If it helps you, we’ll scan them for you and return them in good order.
Argyll CVS has an online Argyll Image Library which contains photographs of historical interest, of wildlife and early postcards of Argyll scanned for inclusion. This is potentially a significant resource for everyone in and interested in Argyll - and for the media in supporting articles and programmes. For Argyll has agreed to work with Argyll CVS to develop this resource.
Argyll needs major central resources and collections to strengthen its identity and make access to its richness available immediately to anyone anywhere. The value of this Image Library is that people and associations keep their own originals while everyone gets a comprehensive online library of digital images.
We are delighted to support this important initiative. We would ask all communities, associations and individuals working with us to identify appropriate photographs in and about their locality, borrow them and either scan them and email us th scan or send us the original for scanning and return. Details of the content of each photo - location, activity, people pictured etc - should be included with the email in either case. If each of us collects what we can, together we can create a unique resource for Argyll.
