Golfers approaching the sixth green at Loch Lomond yesterday couldn’t believe their eyes when a speedboat (the Final Fling, would you believe?) literally flew into a greenside bunker. The boat - by then - was driverless having decanted its crew into the loch after being hit by a double wave. The boat then raced out of control straight into the loch shore, was thrown into the air on impact and flew thirty feet into the bunker. Strathclyde Police confirmed that a man had been rescued from the loch and had no serious injuries. Golfer, Claude Bieth who, with his partner was playing as a guest at the club for the first time said: ‘It was like something out of a James Bond movie’.
