Argyll and Bute Council has made it known that there will be no Putting Green on the front at Lochgilphead this summer. The facility has not been provided by the Council but by franchise operators. Up to now, the franchisee has been able to use the Council’s own Public Liability Insurance but, with legal changes, this is no longer possible. The added cost to the franchise operator of taking out its own Public Liability Insurance has not proved to be bearable in business terms.
