Dieta Korbel, who teaches geography at Lochgilphead High School, wanted to raise money for the Ronald MacDonald House in Glasgow. He managed to raise over £1,700 by flinging himself into the void from an aircraft from Perth’s Strathallen Airfield. He was wearing a parachute. He did land safely. And he must have had such a good view of those geological formations his pupils hear all about! If only geography field trips included such activities.
