Lighthouse Caledonia to shed up to 20% of staff in 2008

Concerns felt a year ago when the previous company, Pan Fish Scotland was sold and merged with Fjord Seafood Scotland and some of Marine Harvest’s Scottish businesses have proved well founded. The Norwegian-owned company, now Lighthouse Caledonia ASA, is to lose up to 20% of its staff this year in the interests of the sustainability of its Scottish presence. With redundancies confirmed as being spread around the various satellite businesses, a company spokesman confirmed that about twenty people in the Loch Fyne-based operation would lose their jobs.
