Inveraray saw fifty members of the Neil Munro Society arrive for the Society’s annual Conference and AGM. Delegates went for an off piste adventure along the coastal path to Kenmore, near Furnace, where the life of the Gaelic poet Evan MacColl is commemorated by a cairn on the rocks above the loch. Professor Allan MacInnes from Strathclyde University talked abut Argyll’s shifting loyalties through time to the Jacobite cause. Joe Gilmovich from Inveraray Primary School was this year’s winner of the Society’s annual writing competition for local children.
