Benderloch-based sail makers secure contract to supply Beijing Olympics

Owen Sails, based at Benderloch, north of Oban has won a contract to provide sails for the Yngling class in the sailing section of the 2008 Olympic Games to be held in Beijing this summer. UK crew of Sarah Ayton, Sarah Webb and Pippa Wilson are strongly tipped for success in this class, with the European Championship already under their belt. Iain Cleaver, an experienced sailor himself, has sponsored the new Yngling class boats that will be used in the competition, through his business, Highland Heritage Hotels.
